“No Mom, I’m not being overly dramatic, I’m actually dyingggggggg.” A, “gift from god,” may have been a bit of an overstatement, but my excitement over the Celine SS15 campaign staring literary ledgend Joan Didion got the best of me. If this is what 2015 looks like, I'm in. A brand stating that their feminine ideal is ageless beauty, and pure intellect, all in one perfect photo. Gracis Celine, just gracias. xxx C

New York reminded me today why I loved living here again. The summer’s grime had just enough raw winter nights to make the streets feel clean again and the air was nippy, and honest. I love this place.
I’ve been thinking a lot about what holidays mean for people in their early twenties without children, and in the midst of fighting for their dream jobs, or creating something they are proud of. It’s a bizarre time of self-evaluation. Today, over tea and the best treats at Mansion Lauduree’ Soho, it was all about dressing for comfort. A best friend passed down this vintage PJ suit (CatID Kerrin), and I truly could not love it more. I think New York almost forces you to mix elements of clothing, maybe that one would not first think of as workable for a look. Sneakers have become such a phenomenon, but such a key part in my surviving actual walking in the city, and they really take nothing away from you’re outfit, (if anything the element of practicality is sexy). People often ask what I think the most important wardrobe staples are. If I had to start somewhere, it would be with a good Duster coat. This one from Asos,I paired with a leotard,vintage Fendi tulle skirt,Zara moto boots, and a velvet Fendi bag. Tulle has always been one on my favorite fabrics,It gives you instant outfit balls done the right way. So go get a duster you won't regret it. xxxC

Sundays are for relaxation and preparation, Cest La Vie! A late Saturday night at Blind Barber, followed by dancing at The Trump hotel Soho.
Today I will take care of loose ends, prepare for a week of productivity, and be inspired by this city.

The first time I passed Linda Rodin on 18th and 7th Ave still remains so vivid in my memory. She was wearing a Canadian tuxedo, walking her grey standard poodle I know now as Winky, and wearing round Miu Miu sunglasses. We both were wearing the same shades, and I remember us both stopping for a second to look at each other. It was a strange moment because I had no idea who she was, but her energy and outfit were so strong, that I knew she must have an interesting story. We smiled at each other, and kept walking. The Commons in Chelsea was across the street from my studio apartment, so I would go there before meetings to grab coffee, and chat with the owners. Linda and I would frequently pass each other on the street. I remember thinking that she was such a soul, her beauty and grace were undeniable, and without knowing much about her, she became an unknown muse, looking forward to the next time we would pass each other, and exchange the knowing fashion smiles. In recent months Linda Rodin has become the It woman on graceful aging and beauty, as the founder of Rodin Cosmetics, (sold on Net-a-porter.com and at other luxury retailers). Wanting to know more and more about her, I began researching her back story, to find that she has lived many lives as a past magazine editor, stylist, model, and store owner to name a few. This Air speaks to inspiration on so many levels. I see myself in Linda, having a similar past in fashion, and continuing to grow myself on so many different fronts of the industry. She is a true inspiration of style and age, and will continue to be someone that I look to for inspiration for life in this moment and the future.xxxC
